Day 5: For Family Ties

Today, I am thankful for...
  1. The joys that little ones bring into our lives. One of my friends recently had a baby boy and I visited her today, and seeing her with the cuddly little baby in her arms (and getting to hold him in my own later) delighted me to an extent I can’t describe. She seemed to have a glow on her face that only a new mother can have and I loved it :) :)
  2. Getting to spend some quality time with my little cousins; and watch the Musical that my brother was a part of in his school’s Annual day function. He was awesome, and so was the entire show put together by the school; and it was called ‘Don’t Stop Healing the World’ (a combination of two of Micheal Jackson’s songs, ‘Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough’ and Heal the World’.)
  3. The fact that I got to spend some quality time with Jyothi today. I saw movie with her (Ishqiya - 4th movie in the theatre this year :D) and am getting ready to watch another one with her in about a few minutes. It’s our girls night in!! ;)
  4. Seeing the musical gave me goose bumps (especially when the ‘Earth Song’ came up) and I fell in love with Micheal Jackson’s songs all over again!!
  5. The day-that-was in entirety... A fulfilling day with a delightful mixture of fun, laughter, emotions and drama (well, just a tad bit! :P)
  6. I have a sixth one too today... I have a special follower!!! :D Thanks Sandeep!!

Day 4: For the Joys of Little Things

    Today, I am thankful for...
    1. The awesome peppy music that I woke up to this morning (‘Paparazzi’ by Lady GaGa and ‘She Wolf’ by Shakira to be more precise... the beats of the songs are awesome!!! Oh and also ‘Sexy Chic’ by David Guetta feat. Akon and ‘I Love The Way’ by Gabriel Antonio) that kept my spirits high all through the day.
    2. Finally having a book to read that I can’t seem to put down. (‘Sea of Poppies’ by Amitav Ghosh that I had begun to read, although a bestseller of 2009, was not as gripping as I was expecting it to be. So will pick it up again later in the year.)
    3. The awesomeness of book that I’m reading; ‘Twilight’ by Stephenie Meyer and the dreamy and gorgeous Edward Cullen (who whose ‘character’ I’m in love with by the way! :P)
    4. Finding out that some of the kids in the class are actually afraid of me. I always thought that I was a lot more lenient than any of the teachers in the faculty and a few students have actually told me that they enjoy my class; and if even THAT scared them, what can I say???
    5. The joys that simple statements like, ‘I didn’t go for lunch with the others today so I could talk to you,’ bring! :D

      Day 3: For the Realizations

      Today, I am thankful for...
      1. The reasonably decent class that I had.
      2. A surprise gift that I received from my sister (a pair of stilettos) :D
      3. Having realized that importance isn’t supposed to be attached to things and people that do not matter; especially those that don’t care about you or how you feel.
      4. Having the ability to forgive.
      5. Not having stooped low just to get back at someone.

Day 2: For the Smiles people brought

        Today, I am thankful for...
        1. The NMMC parking guy who went to get my bike back because it was towed due to his negligence (and also said that I need not pay the next month’s parking charges... Of course I didn’t agree to that. I agreed for 50% waiver instead of a 100% waiver.. My good deed for the day :D :D)
        2. Few other strangers who guided me as to what to do to get my bike back and the watchman from the building next to my classes, who said I could park it inside their building in case there was no place outside.
        3. Dancing, that made me forget all my troubles and made me smile (The "aaa aaa eee... ooh ooh ooh" song from Raja Babu included in the remixed bollywood medley played during our work-out session to be more precise).
        4. Having someone who feels relieved at hearing me say "hello" normally and cheerfully after he knows I’ve been upset.
        5. The fact that we pray at the beginning and end of each dance class... Makes me feel peaceful!!!
P.S.: The exercise is working. I had a rough day, at least the latter part of the day and I’m feeling a lot better because of this list. I guess it’s true that if you look for happiness, sooner or later you’ll find it. I found my smiles for the day! :)

        Day 1: The First

I started this blog as a way to celebrate the Blogaversary of my other blog, as in, to celebrate the completion of one whole year since I started blogging. And I observed that during a major portion of the last year I had been doing things the wrong way as my attitude was totally wrong. So to right those wrongs and thereby remain happy, I am going to list five things each day, that made the day worth living!!! So here’s my first list.
        :D

Since it’s the first day, let’s keep it simple.

        Today, I am thankful for...
        1. Being alive and healthy.
        2. Having a family that cares, a roof over my head and healthy food to eat any time of the day.
        3. Having the people in my life who have made it worth living.
        4. Having the opportunity to be educated, to voice my opinion and the strength of expression through words.
        5. Being able to tell wrong from right most of the times.
        I’m already happier!!! :) :)
