Day 33: For Mum's Mind-reading powers... :P

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Carrying a deodorant with me. The kids in class actually decided to have a little pre-Holi celebration in class and were this (brings the tips of the thumb and index finger of her right had close, with 2 centimeters to spare) close to splashing water all over me. I threatened to spray deodorant in their eyes if even a drop spilled on me!! Not that they were going to throw any water on me, but it would’ve worked! :P
  2. My mother’s mind-reading powers!! On my way back from classes, I was hoping that there would be Pulaav for lunch (I was actually craving for it...) and guess what??? IT WAS!!! It was like my mom read my mind and decided to make exactly what I wanted!!!!!!
  3. The awesome Playlist on VH1 this evening. Among other songs, ‘Rock Rules’ played, In the End by Linkin Park, Californication by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Importance of Being Idle by Oasis and Into the Night by Carlos Santana feat. Chad Kroegar.
  4. The awesome Pakoras that I got to devour in the evening! Yum!
  5. Being able to catch a new show, ‘Rules of Engagement’ on Star World (actually it has been on for quite a while, but I never watched it. I watched an episode today and LOLed!!!!) and finding out that the sixth season of ‘Desperate Housewives’ has just started. I missed two episodes of it already, but I’ll catch those when they’ll be repeated this week!!! :)

Day 32: For the opportunity to say 'Happy Birthday' again

Today’s post is dedicated to one person, who is the single most important thing in my life right now. And this is like another birthday present for him!!! Happy Birthday!!! Here’s to you… :)

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Being able to hear him laugh.
  2. Being able to feel the relief that he feels in his head.
  3. Being able to work hard towards achieving our goal!
  4. Being able to say ‘Good night’ over the phone just as he fell asleep!!!
  5. Having him as a part of my life and being a part of his!

Day 31: For the magic of writing E-mails

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The enormous relief that was the first thing I experienced this morning knowing that a catastrophe had been averted; no further details required. Needless to say, I’ll remember what it was even when I’m 90!!!!!
  2. The awesome Vada Pav, sugarcane juice and double scoop of Mocha Almond that I had.
  3. The joy of writing e-mails to loved ones, and getting responses that almost bring tears to your eyes.
  4. Finding out that my brother had won his school elections and is now the Captain of his school!!! Yay!!!! (I found this out yesterday, but forgot to post it… It still counts as today’s thing I’m happy about, because I’m still happy!!! :D)
  5. (Again I’m a day late on this one.. But doesn’t matter…) For having someone from ICICI Bank comment on the blog post I wrote about ICICI… :)

Day 30: For a Wonderful morning and Indo Jazz...

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The beautiful morning that I woke up to. :) :)
  2. Being able to wish Jay ‘Happy Birthday’ exactly at mid-night IST even though he’s far far away; in the US!
  3. The hysterical laughter that we all shared yesterday when Madhu called. Apparently he referred to Kieron Pollard as Kirron Kher which angered Arun and that made him throw Madhu’s share of the cake (for celebrating Sachin’s double century in yesterday’s match) out on the street. The situation was not all that funny because Arun was almost offended (God knows why…) but it was the way Madhu was narrating the whole thing that made each and every one of us laugh because he repeated the same story to everyone he spoke to yesterday night.
  4. Being able to appreciate ‘Indo Jazz’ as a dance form. I was a little disappointed when I attended the DPL Superstar dance class on Sunday. But today I realized that it was because we were being taught advance dance steps without going through the basics. So since I had the opportunity to learn it from scratch, I realized how beautiful and graceful the dance form actually is. Indo Jazz is a style created by Shiamak himself, and it combines Jazz with a little bit of the Indian classical style; with the hand mudras and all. So now that I got to learn it properly, I am in awe of the dance form really. And since it’s only slow songs that we dance to in this dance form, it had a serene and soothing effect over me.
  5. Being able to visit the temple today twice. :)

Day 29: For not being able to Remember :P

Again, today is one of those days where I can’t list five specific things that I am thankful for. So I’m just going to do a short a sweet post (just like the others but without the five pointer list!)

I’m just a few minutes away from celebrating my sweetheart’s birthday and it is just about taking all of my concentration to write this post when almost everyone around me is breaking into a round of hysterical laughter and no one knows why! I am having a lot of fun here and I am just going to get back to THAT!!! With all the laughing that we are doing, I don’t remember how the rest of the day was and frankly now I don’t even care…

Day 28: For Nature's Beauty & Spontaneity

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The good day in spite of the late start… you guessed it; I overslept!!!! But I got things done before it was late!!!
  2. The spontaneous Lunch date I had… the first lunch date we’ve had since we got together.
  3. The awesome two and a half hours we spent sitting at Marine Drive talking and having fun with Amit and Jyothi as well!!
  4. The spontaneous double date we ended up having without even planning and realizing until we were about to go home.
  5. Being able to witness THIS….

Day 27: For everything that's FREE :P

Today… I spent the entire day at home. I didn’t even step out of the house. So you can imagine what my day was like. Since hardly anything of significance happened today, I don’t want to forcibly list five things and assume that they made me happy today.

But there are a few good things that did happen. I can now talk to almost all of my school friends for FREE!!! So hello Long Conversations and goodbye Huge Phone Bills!!!!

Also, I gave a makeover to this blog and my other blog! They have the same color scheme but are different in some aspects. It doesn’t matter ‘coz they’re both my WebPages.

There are some other happenings too which I want to talk about but will disclose when I have something concrete… Until then, it’s a waiting game.

So yeah! That’s pretty much it! Bottomline, I’m Happy!!!! :) :) :)

Day 26: For the Surprises

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The sleep that I got… Again!! I’m starting to feel that I may be falling sick because I feel like sleeping so much!!! But it is one of my hobbies… So I actually don’t mind getting more of it!
  2. Being able to celebrate my (maternal) grandmother’s birthday. We all went out for lunch and had a totally ‘family’ Sunday afternoon! And the food was great… So great and so heavy that I didn’t feel like having dinner at all!!
  3. The DPL Superstar dance class that we had… One of the participants in the Dance Premier League who also happens to be an instructor at SDIPA, took a special class for us today. Though the class wasn’t all that great, I loved the pseudo Yoga work-out that we did!!! It was soothing… :)
  4. The awesome Khichdi that was dinner today (thanks to the heavy lunch… ref. Point 2 above).
  5. The awesome surprises that being with him guarantee. I get so much more than I even dare to expect, and always when I least expect them to come my way!!!

Day 25: For Opportunities and Celebrations

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Being able to wake up in the morning the way I did.
  2. The journey back from Andheri that I covered in an hour and ten minutes only (although it was in the scorching heat as compared to the chilled crispy weather that I rode through yesterday morning…)
  3. The celebrations that we had in class today to celebrate Tanuruh’s Birthday, Reena Ma’am ‘s farewell and the farewell for the PCC and IPCC May ’10 batches… Oh, and The Achievers’ Academy Students’ Act, 2010 was passed today… to demonstrate how a Bill turns into an ACT!!! :P
  4. The opportunities that Life has granted me. And though I may have made plenty of wrong choices in the past and let go of wonderful opportunities, I’m glad to say that today I got another one and I took it. I’ll elaborate more when I am in a position to give out details… :)
  5. Having this outlet. As I’ve said earlier; there are days when things are just fine, and there are days when THIS helps me to look at the brighter side of things. I am grateful for a lot of things; and I’m happy that I know that I am grateful for them!!! :) :)

Day 24: For a Good Head Start

Today, I am thankful for...
  1. The early morning bike-ride in the crisp chilly weather.
  2. THIS VERY MOMENT!!!!! :)
  3. Being able to start studying today... Finally... however little the amount of work done, it is still a start and a good one at that considering the fact that I had every reason to be distracted every single minute.
  4. Being able to enjoy studying with someone (the insightful discussions - about and away from the subject - and doubt solving sessions adding to the fun) an knowing that it was successful... :)
  5. Being able to go to sleep after having accomplished something worthwhile today. :)

Day 23: For the Belly-aching Laughter

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Being able to remember each and every step that we had learnt during the last dance class; and for finding out that I’ll be standing at the centre of the stage while dancing! :) :)
  2. The unexpectedly awesome response that I got on the photo album that I uploaded on Facebook.
  3. The different kind of conversation we had today; we spoke about our childhood, our pre-teens… you know… its fun knowing that part of someone’s life when you knew them, but didn’t know the other things about them!
  4. The rest that I’ve been getting the last few days… I’ve been sleeping for more than 10 hours each day. I don’t know what’s tiring me so much, but it is difficult to get myself out of the bed!! It could be the work-out, but more than that I think I’m exhausted with the stuff in my head. So I’m thankful for the sleep!!
  5. The awesome conference call with Jyothi and Vishal, where I laughed so hard that my belly ached!!!! These people can be reaaaaalllly funny without even having to try at all!! And I’m just glad about that!!! :) :)

Day 22: For the Indescribable Relief!!!!

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Being able to have a telephone conversation with quite a few people with whom I hadn’t spoken over the phone in a really long time.
  2. Being able to visit the temple, just to say ‘Thank You’ for the wonderful weekend that I had! :)
  3. Finally being able to re-organize my cupboard in a way that the clothes don’t threaten to fall out every time I open the door. It’s a lame thing, I know; but I’m really glad that I was able to re-organize it. I can now safely get my clothes out of the cupboard! ;)
  4. Actually being able to bring myself to the stage of looking forward to the next two and a half months which are not going to be easy!
  5. The enormous relief that I had when I heard Sandeep’s voice. I got a text message from him around four (when I was in the middle of a lecture) saying that he had left for the day and when I tried calling him around six, his phone wasn’t reachable (by which time he should have almost reached home). It was an hour and a half later that I heard from him and found out that I couldn’t reach him because of some network issues; and during those ninety odd minutes, my mind was trying really hard to not think of the worst things that could happen. So you can see how I was relieved when he finally called!!! :)

Day 21: For Others' Happiness

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Being able to chat with Madhu and Jay together!!! We had a three way voice conference on Skype. More than anything, I was glad when Jay said he was happy that he was able to speak to Madhu after a long time. :)
  2. Finding out that something that the beau was trying to do (work related ;)) which wasn’t happening for the last few days, finally happened today. It was like a relief for him, which means a relief for me too.
  3. Jyothi’s happiness!! She got an offer from University of Pittsburgh!!! Yay!!! I’m sad that she’ll be going away this year for another two years at least; but I’m happy for her!!
  4. The how happy my students were when I finished the lecture about half an hour early.
  5. The dance class that I had today. We started with Bollywood Jazz and danced to the remixed version (which had a faster tempo than the original) of Chiggy Wiggy from the film ‘Blue’. We almost finished the dance and the fast, mast movements were awesome!!!! :) :)

Day 20: For having a Direction in Life

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The happiness that I feel with what I have, and being able to be absolutely content with the way things are.
  2. Having the enthusiasm to study again and the zeal to make it this time.
  3. Having a direction, a goal in life that is responsible for the sudden spurt of enthusiasm. :)
  4. The late morning today and almost entirely the afternoon that I spent talking on the phone. If it wasn’t for the call getting disconnected every few minutes, I wouldn’t have even gotten tired! :D
  5. The way things have suddenly changed; from almost nothing to everything that I ever wanted! :) :) :)

Day 19: For Yesterday's Bliss & Tomorrow's Promises

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The awesome day that yesterday was. (I know, I write a post each day and so I’ve covered ‘yesterday’ in the previous post. But it’s unfair if I don’t mention it today because a mere mention of the fact in that one post kind of does not do justice to the day’s awesomeness. So here it goes again), and knowing that Tomorrow will be just as bright and wonderful!
  2. The thoughtful present that I got. It’s just great when someone knows exactly what to get you on a special occasion.
  3. Being able to spend the weekend with Omkar because he’s leaving for Australia in a few days!
  4. Knowing that, in a few days I’ll be able to talk to everyone that I am close to for free… Ba-bye phone bills!! ;)
  5. Finally having a close to perfect Valentine’s Day.

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Day 18: For a whole new List of Firsts

Today’s post is going to be a little different. The whole day, and by whole I mean each living minute of the entire day since I woke up has been eventful and I don’t want to pick just 5 things out and be unfair to the other things that happened today.

For one, as of today I have been with my beau for three whole months and although three months is not such a long time, we decided to make it count and celebrate today as a combination of THAT and Valentine’s Day!

All I want to say here is that even though I’m not going to be listing down each one of the little and not-so-little awesome things that happened today, I am going to remember every single detail for the next few decades at least! So that saves me the trouble of writing a whole blog post which will be way too mushy for your liking (and way too personal for me to be openly talking about!)

So what if I didn’t list five things today? The whole point of this blog was to find the happiness hidden in everyday things and to avoid finding faults with what’s happening and complaining about life. So how does it matter whether I write paragraphs or a five pointer list? I am happy and that’s what matters! :)

Day 17: For the LOVE-ly Weekend Plans

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Knowing that, the beau has a holiday tomorrow. :D
  2. Being able to cancel class for the weekend myself, so that I can… you know… spend THIS weekend the way it’s supposed to be spent.  :D :D
  3. The two hours of massage and pampering at the Salon.
  4. The happiness that I was able to give the kids in the class by canceling my lectures for the next 2 days… :P
  5. Knowing that the weekend spent with everyone is going to be totally awesome!!!!!!

Day 16: For being Pampered

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The new friends that I made in dance class today; and even more so because one of them doted over me so much, I truly enjoyed it!!!
  2. The new work-out medley in the dance class that had songs from the ‘80s. The awesome foot thumping songs, and Bhuvan’s (our instructor.. yes the cute one) expressions which were worth watching as he made us dance to the tunes of ‘Dum Maaro Dum,’ ‘Om Shanti Om,’ ‘Disco Deewane,’ etc. made the work-out more energetic and fun than it already is.
  3. The half an hour of before-the-dance-class practice that we did, that helped us all to know each other better.
  4. Being able to complete project that I had undertaken; well before the deadline (which was this Friday.) Jay wanted me to help him design his dad’s website and I was supposed to give him at least two prototypes of what the home page should look like; and I completed that early today morning and sent it to him. Needless to say, he liked them both! :)
  5. The awesome adjectives and nouns (converted to adjectives) that were used to describe what I mean to him. I have never ever, ever felt so wanted and pampered in my entire life!

Day 15: For going Back to Normal Life

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. Having my life go back to normal. For the past few days, there seemed to be a little tension and even though I could sense it, I couldn’t do anything about it. Somehow today, it all just disappeared and things came back to normal. I had a fun conversation (not that the past few conversations were not fun… it’s just that today’s conversation was a LOT of fun! :D) and I’m sure both of us are going to sleep over the awesomeness that the conversation was.
  2. Being able to speak my mind. I have always tried to avoid conflict and in the process, I ended up not being able to put my point across. But I was able to overcome that, and I’m happy to say that this time, I was not just listening to someone go on and on and on. I said what I had to, and put an end to the discussion.
  3. THIS… This is the amount of fun we had yesterday. I couldn’t upload a picture yesterday, but I have one now and here it is!!! :)

And here are the gifts she got from us!!!!

  1. The sleep I got. I slept only for 5 hours the night before and was up for 21 hours after that. So even the 10 hour sleep I got was like a blessing, even if I had to wake up in 6 hrs to have a short phone call with him (which lasted 15-17 mins at least and was totally worth the break in the sleep) after which I went back to sleep and slept for another 4 hours straight!!!
  2. Having a little project work to do. Will update about it when I’m done. But it feels good to have something creative to do. :) :)

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Day 14: For the Girly Fun

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The two and a half hours of “studying” (and that is proper legitimate studying) that I did today. It was fulfilling!! :)
  2. The awesome afternoon that I had with my girls. Oh! And yes, she liked all her presents very much (we got her a ‘Flower vase painting kit’ and ‘Ceramic painting book’ from Hobby Ideas; a “Happy Birthday” cup and ‘Twilight’ from Crosswords.) I would’ve uploaded a pic, but the pictures are all with her. It was great to see her smile with awe at every gift she opened. It was totally worth it!!!
  3. Being able to meet Ashish after a long time today. I don’t remember when I saw him last; somewhere around September last year, maybe.
  4. Having an awesome, awesome dance class. We revisited the Hip-Hop sequence (which I was surprised that I remembered!) and practiced Salsa as well. I can feel the energy run through my veins every time my body starts moving to the tunes of awesome music. And I’m getting closer to being fitter! But if after the entire course is over, I discover that I haven’t lost weight or got in shape or (God forbid!) both, I swear I’m asking for my money back!! Seriously! :P
  5. (Damn I’m stuck again… maybe I should rename this blog to “4 Things I'm Thankful For Today” :P) Hmmm… I finally used Twitpic to Tweet a picture… Phew… Saved!!! ;)

Day 13: For the Occasions to Celebrate...

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The enthusiasm with which I have been reading books the past few weeks (of course that means that I’ve been studying less, but at least I’m not sitting idle and wondering what to do. There’s always something or the other that I’m up to!)
  2. The time I spent with Malika today, getting some goodies for our dear friend (who I hope does not read this before tomorrow afternoon, ‘coz it may kill the surprise!) I’m not saying that she won’t be expecting anything; after all she has been after our lives for the last three months (or is it the last six years!!!) to get her something for her birthday. So this year, we went a little overboard, and we hope she’ll like it. We’ll find out tomorrow.
  3. The little baby girl that Malika and I saw at the mall today, who was so friendly that she smiled at each and every person she saw. She responded to each and every ‘hi’ that came her way and was constantly running around the mall with those little shoes that squeak with every step. She was adorable!!!
  4. The planning we were able to do for Kanchan’s B’day tomorrow; the thoughtful stuff that (I think) we bought for her and the smiles that we’re sure we’re going to see on her face throughout tomorrow. :) :)
  5. (And a post on this blog cannot be complete without mentioning him!! So I’m thankful for…) The patience that he has for listening to (and putting up with) my nonsense. I’m not just thankful, I’m ever so grateful to have him as a part of my life. :) :)

Day 12: For the Friendships I Share

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The wedding invite that I received from a friend today. Well, it wasn’t the wedding invite that was special, but what he wrote in the e-mail that made me feel nice. Here’s how it went…
“Dear Nikita
Card is attached. I know its difficult but please do try to come for the wedding, especially remembering the long friendship that we have shared ever since the days when you joined and I quit EY Mumbai and our common interest in not taking interest in Audit :)”

  1. The wonderful Sunday meal at home (I realize that I’m mentioning food everyday. But you can’t be thankful enough when you get to eat a delicious meal every single day. If I don’t mention it, it’s just not fair to my mother you know!)
  2. ‘Telephone’… Yes, I’m thankful that the telephone was invented (Delayed gratification but it still counts) If it weren’t for the telephone, how would we communicate??? How would we be in touch with loved ones, and have conversations that fill in the gaps that staying away create?? Just how??
  3. The support that I have from people around me; knowing that they will stick with me when they know I need them. Love you guys! (Jyothi and Madhu especially… Conversations with you guys make me feel special… really!) :)
  4. This outlet that I have that makes my day brighter than it already is, on good days; and shines some light on days that made me start this blog in the first place. It has worked so far, and I’m sure it will even as days pass…

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Day 11: For the Peace Within

Today, I am thankful for…

  1. The great start to the day that I had. It always lifts my spirits to listen to good music in the morning. And then the spirits just stay that high! It’s a gift really… And when the day starts with that one phone call, what else do you need??? It was the phone call that woke me up actually... I would’ve slept for a good three more hours at least otherwise… :P
  2. The awesome food Amma made today. I tend to over eat when Amma makes certain daals and sabzis. If after all the workouts in the dance class, I happen to gain weight (forget about maintaining it… and losing weight seems like a distant possibility when I gorge on food like this) I would blame my mother… the food she makes; to be more precise. I just can’t help stop eating even after I’m full.
  3. The visit to the Balaji Temple after almost two and a half months. For the last two months, I planned every week to go to the temple, but somehow I wasn’t able to. Today I decided that I would go there come what may. I usually like visiting the temple during mid-morning/ early afternoon or late evening when there are very few people around, so the temple is peaceful except for the Vaadyaars (Pundits) chanting hymns which add to the serenity of the temple’s environment; and after I’m done with offering my prayers to all the deities in the temple, I spend about fifteen minutes in front of the main deity just sitting there and trying to meditate. When I visited the temple today, I swear I could see the Balaji deity smile broader than usual. I feel that every time I go there after a long gap between visits. It’s as if He’s happy to see me there. I felt peaceful! :)
  4. The Maggi recipe that I got from Tanuruh’s place (the addition of garlic and pepper to the normal tastemaker masala.) Since the time I tasted Maggi made that way, I haven’t been able to relish its taste when cooked in the old fashioned way. So when I was hungry in the evening, I had an entire packet, cooked with extra spices (I amended the recipe a little to my advantage by adding and altering a few ingredients) and I loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
  5. The alone time I was able to spend at home this evening. Apart from devouring on the delicious Maggi, I spent the evening reading and listening to music, which again made me feel peaceful!!!! It was a good day indeed!!

Day 10: For Spreading the Joy

Today, I am thankful for...
  1. Knowing that my list of ‘5 Good Things Today’ has inspired one of my closest friends (Malika) to make a list of her own everyday. Before going to sleep, she mentally lists five things about the day that made her day better and goes to sleep happy and smiling. I helped someone be happier! :)
  2. Finally being able to start studying today. I barely read four pages, but it’s still a start. And Auditing is quite a dull read compared to the other book I’m reading; which brings me to my next point.
  3. The fact that I’ve started reading my fourth book for the year. I’ve already reached half of my reading score for last year, so I’m in a much better place (‘novel-reading’ wise). I finished reading ‘Twilight’ about 2 nights ago and started ‘New Moon’ and I’m loving it. Not that I don’t have a damn good one already (who’s just as dreamy and awesome... you can add dimples to that!!!), but I wouldn’t mind a Vampire boyfriend if he’s as sweet and sensitive as Edward Cullen. I’m just saying.
  4. The early morning conversations that I’ve been having when I’m not sure of half the things I’m saying; but I’m having fun nonetheless. When I was fully awake and I recollected what I had said in half consciousness, I ended up laughing really hard. I remembered describing what I’d been dreaming just before I answered the call, and I described it in great detail (as if there was any doubt about THAT!)
  5. (I always get stuck here. Somehow the first four points each day come very easily. But I have to put a little bit of thought and effort to actually fish out a fifth one!) Aaahh... I’m just happy. Nothing went wrong, no one screamed or yelled, I wasn’t late for class, I didn’t fall, trip or break anything... So let’s just leave it at, ‘it-was-a-good-day’ and I’m happy!!!! :)

Day 9: For the Beautiful Words

    Today, I am thankful for...
    1. The above average day that I had (which is anytime better than a below average or a bad day...)
    2. The new songs that I listened to today (from the movie ’Ishqia’) that seemed to have a calming effect over me. I would love to listen to those songs over and over again!!!
    3. The wonderful dance class that I knew I was going to have. Learnt a little bit more of salsa and also found out that we’d be performing this style of dance on stage!!! Yay!!!! Plus, I also wore a skirt to class today (since skirts enhance this style of dancing) and salsa shoes with heels to get the perfect feel of the style and it’s movements.
    4. The beautiful words in which he described me today. He said I was a ‘Pole Star’ that shines ever so brightly and is distinct from every other star in the sky!!! :D :D :D THAT actually made my entire week. I’ve totally forgotten that I was mad at him yesterday!! :P
    5. Being able to meet him today after a gap of eleven days (yes!!! eleven whole days). Sometimes it’s hard to believe that we both live in the same city! Or do we??? ;)

      Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Day 8: For the Joys that Books bring

      Today, I am thankful for...
      1. The patience that I have that enabled me to not over-react, and thereby avert a fight that could have turned ugly if not handled properly.
      2. The joy that making up after a fight brings. Unfortunately it had to be done over the phone. I would have loved to make up in person. ;)
      3. Reading (‘Twilight’; that I will finish by tonight) that made me travel to another world and momentarily forget the troubles that I have in my own, and rejoice in the joys of others. I forgot where I was, or what I was going through; and was completely and totally involved in Bella and Edward’s lives. (Very helpful when all you want to do is not think about something that’s constantly at the back of your mind.)
      4. The new class that I taught today. Since today was my first day with them, I couldn’t assess how bright and intelligent they were. But for a new teacher, they were very interactive and they responded; which helped a lot.
      5. The anticipation of tomorrow. It’s the ’waiting’, the ’not knowing what’s going to happen’ that makes the unknown future all the more exciting. Mostly, I’m looking forward to my dance class (and maybe getting to dance with my cute instructor again... just maybe... I’m just saying!) :D

        Day 7: For the Nostalgia

        Today, I am thankful for...
        1. The Nostalgia that brought back happy memories. After her birthday was officially over yesterday (i.e., past midnight) my mother asked Natasha if she had enjoyed herself. When she said yes, my mother asked her if it was the best birthday she ever had. She gave it a bit of thought and said, “It was one of the best ones that I’ve had so far. The other one was in 5th standard when Nikita and Meha had organized the party.” I didn’t even remember which one it was. And then I recollected her birthday of that year. It was awesome indeed!!! :)
        2. The excitement that dancing brought. I always feel liberated while dancing. Until the last class, we were learning Hip-Hop and I had to put a little bit of an effort to actually enjoy it to the extent I usually enjoy dancing. But today, we started with Salsa, and yes; I love it. The spicy dance (as my instructor puts it;) the hip movements and the foot-tapping Latino music... just exciting!!
        3. Being able to dance with my instructor (who by the way is very cute..) He needed to demonstrate the couples’ movements and the other instructor was also a guy and; I quote; there was no way he was dancing with another guy. So he called me to demonstrate the movements! :) :)
        4. Getting to know that someone who is far far away from all of us (all the way in USA) felt happy when I buzzed him over chat; especially when he was missing all of us!!!
        5. Knowing that tomorrow is going to be special!!! I just know it, and I am thankful for it in advance! :P

Day 6: For the Music and Conversations

          Today, I am thankful for...
          1. The fact that I looked normal in Jyothi’s mirror. (The mirrors in Jyothi’s house make anyone look a little fatter than they are. So it’s a little disheartening to see yourself looking a little bloated if you aren’t; or a little more bloated than you’re used to seeing yourself in your own mirror. And the fact that I looked "normal" in her mirror, definitely meant that I’ve lost weight! Yay!) Okay, this happened yesterday night after I published the previous post. As I missed it yesterday, I’m going to make it count today...It’s a very silly thing I know, but hey, it made me happy! :)
          2. The Live Acoustic Music that we had in our house on account of Natasha’s b’day. We played the guitar, sang along and had fun!!!
          3. The awesome Aaloo Tikki’s amma made!! Yum!
          4. The the short, but beautiful conversations in the middle of a busy working day!!
          5. ‘Twilight’... it just seems to get better with every page I turn....
